How to choose a transformer DC resistance tester

Jan 11, 2025

When testing the direct resistance of a transformer, select the type of direct resistance based on the transformer capacity:
① Select 5A direct resistance for transformers below 10MVA.
② Choose 10A DC resistance for transformers ranging from 10MVA to 63MVA.
③ Select 20A DC resistor or three channel 10A DC resistor for transformers ranging from 63MVA to 120MVA
④ Select 40A, 50A direct resistance or three channel for transformers ranging from 120MVA to 240MVA
20A direct resistance
⑤. For transformers greater than 240MVA, choose 40A, 50A or three-phase 20A direct resistance
100A direct resistance
Note: The current magnitude and measurement accuracy of the DC resistance tester are not strictly regulated
Relationship, when using a low current DC resistance tester to measure large capacity transformers during testing
It will slow down in between.
2. Use HZ-3310D or HZ-3110 for 10kV distribution transformers with voltage level
Voltage level 35kV power transformer using HZ-3310D or HZ-3120A
Voltage level 69kV -135kV transformer using HZ-3320D or HZ-3120A
Use HZ-3340D or HZ-3150A for transformers with voltage levels ranging from 220kV to 500kV
3. Selection of direct resistance type for the secondary winding coil of the current transformer: HZ-3120A
