EPC = Engineering, Procurement and Construction It is a widely‑used turnkey project delivery model, very common in power plants, substations, renewable energy, oil‑gas and industrial infrastructure projects.
Three core parts
Engineering Feasibility study, scheme design, detailed drawing, technical calculation, equipment specification and compliance work.
Procurement Selection, purchasing, inspection, logistics and delivery of all equipment, instruments, raw materials and spare parts required by the project.
Construction Civil work, on‑site installation, commissioning, system testing and hand‑over of fully functional facilities.
Working mechanism
One single EPC contractor takes overall responsibility for the whole project under one contract, including quality, safety, construction period and cost control, and delivers a ready‑to‑operate facility to the owner. Most EPC contracts adopt a lump‑sum fixed‑price mode, and most construction risks are borne by the contractor rather than the project owner.
