The operating principle of the transformer oil bdv tester is based on the breakdown characteristics of insulating oil under the influence of an electric field. As a gradually increasing voltage is applied to the oil, impurities, moisture, and other contaminants within the oil progressively form conductive paths, ultimately leading to dielectric breakdown. The tester determines the dielectric strength of the insulating oil by precisely controlling the applied voltage and accurately monitoring the moment at which breakdown occurs.
