If the capacity of main control box is not more than10KVA the panel of the main control box is as figure 4.

The operation of the insulation test with HZJ series HIPOT tester is as follow:

 

Connect the grounding cables for the test object, high-voltage transformer, and main control box.

If the test object is capacitive, fully discharge it before testing.

Connect the tester to the test object according to Figure 3.

Power on the main control box.

Confirm the required withstand voltage value.

Set the over-current protection value using the pointer on the over-current relay panel.

Set the voltage regulator to the zero position, then press the Close button on the control panel to enable the high-voltage output unit.
If the regulator is not at zero, the high-voltage output unit cannot be enabled. The zero-position indicator on the panel will confirm correct status.

Slowly increase the output voltage to the specified test value while monitoring the high-voltage and low-voltage current meters.

Start the timer using the timer switch on the main control box once the test voltage is applied.

If the output current exceeds the preset value, the over-current protection will immediately cut off the power to the high-voltage transformer, and the test will be deemed failed.

When the timer reaches the preset time, an audible alarm will sound. If no over-current trip occurs before the alarm, the test is considered passed.

Press the Open button to disconnect the power supply to the high-voltage transformer after the test.

Fully discharge the high-voltage circuit of the test object before disconnecting any cables.

 

Please do not start the test if any part of the tester is damaged.
