I. Overview

This product is an auxiliary unit designed for lightweight high-voltage test transformers. It offers superior performance, multiple functions, compact size, and light weight, with reliable operation, an attractive appearance, and easy maintenance.

II.Operating Conditions

The work area should be free from gases, vapors, chemical dust, or other explosive and corrosive substances that may seriously affect insulation.

III. Operating Procedure

Connect the control unit, transformer, and test object according to the test requirements.

Set the overcurrent relay (KA) and time relay (KT) to the appropriate action values based on the required test current and withstand voltage duration.

Plug in the power cord and rotate the voltage regulator handle to zero. The green indicator light (HG) will illuminate, indicating readiness for testing. During operation, do not approach the transformer to avoid danger.

After all preparations are complete, power can be applied. Press the start button (ST) to energize the main circuit (KM). The voltage regulator will be powered. Rotate the regulator handle clockwise to increase voltage. The zero indicator (HY) will turn off, and the working indicator (HR) will turn on. Monitor the voltmeter (PV) closely. When the voltage reaches the specified withstand value, press the timer button (ST2) and observe the test object.

When the withstand voltage timer reaches the set value, the control unit will automatically emit an audible alarm. Immediately rotate the regulator handle counterclockwise to zero, press the stop button (SP) and the timer button (ST2). The red indicator will turn off, and the yellow indicator will turn on. The test is complete.

If a short circuit, flashover, or breakdown occurs during voltage boost or withstand testing, the overcurrent relay (KA) will trip and disconnect the main circuit. In this case, rotate the regulator counterclockwise to zero.

Note: Voltage boost should be slow and uniform; voltage reduction should be rapid. Do not unplug the power cord directly to avoid overvoltage and equipment damage.

IV. Operating Precautions

Upon unpacking, check for any transport damage.

After extended use, inspect all electrical components, especially the carbon brush contact of the voltage regulator.

Strictly follow the operating procedure. Read the manual carefully before use.

If the unit has been idle for a long time, before reusing it, check the insulation resistance of the main circuit to ground with a 2500 V megger; the value should not be less than 1.5 MΩ.

The equipment should be stored in a well-ventilated, dry place free from corrosive gases.
