IV. Working Principle
The analyzer employs Karl Fischer Coulometric titration:

Reaction: Water reacts with iodine (I₂) and sulfur dioxide (SO₂) in a methanol/pyridine buffer:

H₂O + I₂ + SO₂ + 3C₅H₅N → 2C₅H₅N·HI + C₅H₅N·SO₃

C₅H₅N·SO₃ + CH₃OH → C₅H₅N·HSO₄CH₃

Electrolysis & Detection: Consumed I₂ is regenerated electrolytically:

Anode: 2I⁻ - 2e⁻ → I₂

Cathode: I₂ + 2e⁻ → 2I⁻ (and 2H⁺ + 2e⁻ → H₂↑)

Platinum electrodes precisely detect the reaction endpoint.

Quantification: Based on Faraday's Law, the moisture content (W, in μg) is directly proportional to the electrolytic charge (Q, in millicoulombs): W = Q / 10.722
