Overview
The SF6 gas density relay is a critical component used to monitor SF6 gas density variations within SF6 switchgear during operation. In field service, these relays operate infrequently and often develop issues such as sluggish action and poor contact over time. Additionally, degraded temperature compensation performance may cause the relay to malfunction under sudden ambient temperature changes. Consequently, the DL/T 596-1996 Preventive Test Code for Power Equipment mandates that all SF6 switch users perform regular calibration of SF6 gas density relays.
The HZ1491 SF6 Density Relay Calibrator has been developed in strict accordance with DL/T 259-2012, the Calibration Specification for SF6 Density Relay issued by the National Energy Administration of China. The instrument features a 7.0-inch color LCD touchscreen for intuitive human-machine interaction, a built-in high-capacity rechargeable lithium battery pack for extended standby operation, and a standard USB interface for exporting historical data to a USB flash drive.
In addition to SF6 density relay calibration, the instrument supports calibration of pressure gauges and density gauges. It incorporates automatic fault detection during measurement: in the event of pipeline leakage, insufficient inlet/outlet pressure, or other abnormalities, the system automatically halts operation and displays a warning prompt.

High-Performance Control: The calibrator employs a high-performance single-chip microcontroller for detection and control, with core components sourced from internationally recognized manufacturers, ensuring high accuracy, excellent repeatability, and outstanding reliability.
Multi-Contact Measurement: The initial state of 1 to 5 groups of relay contacts can be configured in any form (normally open or normally closed), allowing simultaneous measurement of response values and recovery values for all contact groups.
Intuitive User Interface: Equipped with a color touchscreen LCD, the instrument offers simple operation and an elegant interface, with all parameters and statuses clearly displayed at a glance.
Automatic Pressure-Temperature Compensation: The system automatically completes pressure measurement and 20 °C value conversion, realizing dynamic automatic compensation between pressure and temperature. It displays the pressure at the measured ambient temperature, the pressure converted to 20 °C, and the ambient temperature itself, effectively resolving the challenges of field calibration of SF6 gas density relays.
Fully Automated Testing: All test procedures are executed automatically by the microcontroller without manual intervention, eliminating cumbersome manual air-path adjustments.
Data Storage & Protection: The instrument can store up to 50 test results simultaneously, features power-off data protection, and allows querying and printing of previous test results at any time.
Wide Temperature Range Calibration: No constant-temperature chamber is required during calibration; the instrument can calibrate SF6 gas density relays and pressure gauges within any effective temperature range.
Versatile Connectivity: Supplied with a comprehensive set of transition adapters, the calibrator enables on-site verification of most switch types without disassembly of the density relay.
Multi-Function Calibration: In addition to density relay calibration, the instrument also supports calibration of 20 °C pressure gauges and ambient-temperature pressure gauges.
Professional Gas Control: The gas cylinder pressure-reducing valve is professionally designed to withstand up to 15 MPa (150 kg), with adjustable low-pressure output, making it suitable for calibration in metrology laboratories using nitrogen as the test gas.
